We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who supported and attended the 3rd annual Homeless Hotel. The event, aimed at raising awareness and raising funds, was a huge success. Programs offered through Moncton Youth Residences Inc. and the YMCA of Greater Moncton are the benefactors of the $50,000 raised this year. During the twelve hour event guests were entertained by a wonderful array of talent, participated in a variety of activities and were fortunate enough to hear the powerful story of two youth living in the Moncton area. The service fair provided people with a glimpse of the various services currently available, as well as those that are not yet available, to homeless and at-risk youth in the Greater Moncton area. This year also saw the introduction of the Game of Street Life that provided participants with an opportunity to experience the barriers and challenges faced by homeless people. It was an important and poignant addition to this year’s event. We are truly grateful to all those who helped us to make the Homeless Hotel 2006 such a success. It is only with the support of our sponsors, volunteers, and participants that an event like this is possible. Together we are able to make a difference in our community and touch the lives of homeless youth.
